Mediation
Mediation is a very effective way of resolving disputes without the need to involve employment tribunals. It is a voluntary process and will only take place if both parties agree. It is a confidential process where the terms of discussion are not disclosed to any party outside the mediation hearing.
As an HR Consultancy that prides itself on creating and maintaining excellent relationships with clients we find that mediation is a very natural choice for us and we are always keen to encourage our clients to reap the benefits of mediation.
We have found mediation to be a flexible process and it has been invaluable in the following circumstances:
- Contract disputes
- Altercations between colleagues
- Altercations between superiors and employees
- Resolution of informal grievances
Mediation can be quicker, less stressful and cheaper than going to tribunal.
The outcome of mediation can often include an apology, an explanation, or something that a tribunal could not order. Once a settlement has been reached a mediation agreement can be drawn up.
