Diploma in Learning and Development Practice
Both the Certificate in Learning & Development Practice and the Diploma in Learning & Development Practice have been designed as specialist qualifications in the field of L&D. They are designed for people who are practitioners in Training, and who require a qualification which is well recognised. It may also be suitable for those who are aspiring to become trainers provided that they have organisational support.
On successful completion, candidates can apply for an upgrade to Associate Membership of the CIPD
Course Outlines
Certificate Core Modules:
- Developing yourself as an effective L&D practitioner
- Understanding organisations and the role of L&D
- Recording, analysing and using L&D information
Certificate Electives:
- Resourcing talent
- Undertaking a learning needs analysis
- Preparing and designing learning and development activities
- Delivering learning and development activities
Additional modules for Diploma level:
- Evaluating learning and development activities
- Developing coaching skills for the workplace
- Developing mentoring skills for the workplace
Assessment
Your work will be assessed on an ongoing basis using written assignments and reports, case studies and skills-based assignments as well as the completion of our workbooks to the required standards.
To successfully complete your selected programme, you must also provide evidence of your Continuing Professional Development (also known as CPD) and a Personal Development Plan.

Mode of Delivery
The courses are run using a combination of classroom teaching and home study. Taught days in the UK / Europe are nine for Certificate and twelve for Diploma courses. In the Gulf and Sudan taught days are seventeen for Certificate and twenty three for Diploma courses.
